The State Duma of the Russian Federation approved in the first reading a draft Law designed to improve reconciliatory procedures.
In Russia Mediation has not yet become an effective method for settling disputes and reconciling the parties.
From 2011 to 2017 conciliatory procedures involving mediators in Russia were used in a very small number of cases.
This bill establishes the institution of judicial reconciliation and defines a wide range of possible reconciliation results that the parties can come to in the process of conciliation.
Among other things, this document provides for the possibility of using mediation in cases involving government bodies.
