We are glad to announce that the series of articles on mediation by Frank C. Laney will be published on Mediation Euro-Asia during February 2019.
The first article is titled as “Mediating by Telephone” — the biggest difference in mediating by telephone rather than face to face or in-person is the mode of communication. As simplistic or even oxymoronic as that may seem, it is true and has numerous ramifications. To be a successful phone mediator you have identify and deal with the dynamics of telephonic conversation as opposed to face to face communication.

Frank C. Laney is Circuit Mediator for the US Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, chair of the State Judicial Council Dispute Resolution Committee and is an ex-officio member of the NC Dispute Resolution Commission. He is the former Mediation Coordinator for the NC Industrial Commission, a former partner in Mediation Inc. and for three years limited his private practice in Raleigh to mediation.
